Things Boys Don’t Understand

How To Get Good Hair

I never really thought about my hair dryer making my hair feel like straw. That is, until I decided to buy a new one. I always figured that it was the blonde making my hair dry. (It helps..) My ;hair guru suggested that I buy a ;higher end hair dryer since I’ve tried some really good deep conditioners. ;She suggested I try the CHI.

I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to check out their supply (hello 20% off coupons that never expire). Luckily they had some CHIs! This is the one I bought.

CHI Air Pro Expert Ceramic Hair Dryer

This sounds crazy, but I went out and bought it at lunch. It was misty outside so I ran home to test out my new dryer. YES, I am that girl. Since my hair was mostly dry, I didn’t really notice a difference. What I did notice was the noise it was making. It was SO much quieter than my other dryer! It literally sounded like it wasn’t going to screw my hair up. I would compare it to driving a 2001 car and then test driving a 2012 car. Seriously. I was so excited I called my sister turned both dryers on so she could hear them.

Here is a pic of my hair after only blowing it dry with the CHI.

Here is a pic of my hair after only blowing it dry with my old dryer.

I think the pictures speak for themselves. RUN get a better hair dryer!!! Yes it is more money, but it will actually save you money in the long run. Especially if you have damaged hair!

Unfortunately this is not a product endorsement, just my opinion. If CHI wants to SEND ME A FREE one, I’d be more than happy to accept! 😉

Day 1

Since yesterday was my last day of cupcakes and cake, I went to the grocery store at lunch and stocked up.
This is not a drill..
I had a turkey wrap and 6 vanilla cupcakes..
Taking the rest to a friend’s house tonight to get rid of them! 40 days is a long time my friends, a long time.

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Mardi gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday; in English the day is sometimes referred to as Shrove Tuesday, from the word shrive, meaning “confess.” Related popular practices are associated with celebrations before the fasting and religious obligations associated with the penitential season of Lent. Popular practices include wearing masks and costumes, overturning social conventions, dancing, sports competitions, parades, etc. Similar expressions to Mardi Gras appear in other European languages sharing the Christian tradition. In English, the day is called Shrove Tuesday, associated with the religious requirement for confession before Lent begins. via

Since today is Fat Tuesday, I decided this year that I would be giving up cupcakes and cake. For those that know me, this is truly going to be a challenge! Last week I had FOUR cupcakes from Gigi’s, and I may or may not have bought those 2-bite cupcakes from Publix on Sunday and finished them on Monday. Yes, I will be buying more tonight so that I can indulge one last time before I completely give them up for 40 days. I have to, right?

Since I need them to survive am addicted to them I figured I would challenge myself.

Wish me luck!!

Here are some traditional Fat Tuesday favorites that you can check out:

Beauty Tip: Eyeliner and Shadows

If black eye liner has become too harsh looking, try using grey liner if you wear silver jewelry or brown liner if you wear gold! Also, gold looks best for summer. Are you stocked up and ready for it? via
Some of my favorite Lancome shadows are..

burnt sand

kitten heel
How gorg would montage, garment or excursion be for a smokey eye? (Not together). Add in a smidge of black to smoke it up a little? Or dark gray? Hello stunner!

The Grammys

They are too cute!!

My sister was born!
Happy 31st birthday to my one and only most favoritest sister in the world!!

Beauty Tip: Mascara

Are Mascara specks messing up your morning makeup? Try applying your mascara to your lower lashes first. Then apply your top lash mascara. It’s usually looking up with wet mascara to apply your lower lash mascara that makes the mess! via

My personal favorites are..

Beauty Tip: Hydrating Your Skin

Ever notice a mans neck as they get older? They don’t age the same as a womans. Know why? A big reason is because men shave! Shaving is like exfoliating! Woman don’t start shaving… just make sure at least twice a week you are exfoliating and scrubing your face, neck and body with a facial scrub and body scrub. Be careful not to scrub too hard. You’ll be amazed also at how much smoother your foundation will appear and also how much better your creams and serums will soak into your skin! via

Puttin A Ring On It

I love many things about S. Many. One thing I love the most about him is that marriage doesn’t freak him out or scare him. See?

Beautiful Nail: Just One

First of all, if you didn’t get my reference to comedian Anjelah Johnson, you’re missing out. Check out this video.

So last night I went to get a mani/pedi. I wanted all my nails painted with Essie’s Sand Tropez.

On the left hand, ring finger I wanted a red heart in OPI’s Vodka and Caviar.

Sounds easy, right?? Well, apparently not. I had to wait a little while for the guy to come paint the heart on. No big deal. So he gets there, and paints a heart. This is what I had in mind..

What he did looked like this..

I’m sorry but is that a strawberry?! WTF! Ugh, of course when he asked if I liked it I said yes. I felt bad for him. Plus I didn’t feel like having him take ALL the polish off that nail and repainting 2 coats, then attempt to screw up another heart. He obviously didn’t know how to draw. So I went home. I repainted that nail myself.

It’s not as cute as I wanted, but you can at least tell it’s a heart!

Doctor Visit

I woke up extra early this morning so that I could go to an ENT {ear nose & throat doc}. I’ve had sinus issues since I was little. I had tubes in my ears when I was a baby. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with sinus issues, but I know before I get sick, my ears hurt.

I probably get a sinus infection 4-6 times a year, which FYI, is not normal. I met with my ENT for the first time this morning. He performed nasal endoscopy. Super fun times. His nurse sprayed some stuff in each nostril so that he could stick the camera down. Towards the end, it hurt and my eyes watered.

I have a polyp on my left side. ;He didn’t see anything on the right side, so that’s good! Usually if it’s on one side, it’s on the other in regards to your nose. ;The polyp is making the mucus not drain properly so that’s why I get infections a lot. He gave me a script for 4 different meds – nasal spray, antibiotics, diflucan, and a steroid. I will take them for ;3.5 weeks. Once I’m done ;I’ll go in for a cat scan to see if it’s better or worse. Depending on those results he will then test me for allergies and possibly do surgery. He said to warn ppl I’d be moody. Well yeah! You try taking steroids, all those antibiotics which cause yeast to stir up and tell me you won’t be moody! 😉 The next 3.5 weeks will be rough. Hopefully I’ll be better once all the meds are over so that I won’t require surgery and he can just test me for allergies.

I decided to google polyps in your nose and this is what I found.

If they become large enough, polyps can block the drainage pathways of the sinuses. When the sinus drainage pathways are obstructed, the normal sinus function will be affected and patients may develop the signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis. {which is what’s happening to me}

Common signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps include:

A runny nose
Persistent stuffiness
Postnasal drip
Decreased or absent sense of smell
Loss of sense of taste
Facial pain or headache
Pain in your upper teeth
A sense of pressure over your forehead and face
Itching around your eyes

I ;have all of those except the ones in italics. Crazy, right?!
