Victoria’s Secret Shoes

As I was flipping through my Victoria’s Secret magazine the other night, I came across some shoes I am dying for.

The first thing I did was look on their website for them. When I didn’t find them, I tweeted DON because she knows everything! Yesterday after googling them and not finding them I emailed Victoria’s Secret asking them. The following email is what they sent back.

Well since I went thru a lot of trouble to email you, obviously I want to know where they are from…so how about finding our for me? Geez!

Running Shoes

As I’m really getting back into working out, I noticed that I need some new shoes. What do we think?

Bachelorette

I was flipping thru the September issue of ELLE magazine and I came across an article on Bachelorette (the movie). Leslye Headland the writer and director was talking about the movie..

“There’s a checklist by which women should live their lives, so that they’re always defining themselves by what they don’t have.”

How true is that, seriously.

She also says.. “Female friendships are deep and complex, and the lengthy ones are submerged in this dark history. If you’ve been friends for 10 years, you’ve done some terrible shit to each other.”

Kirsten Dunst who plays Regan, agrees, “It’s the part of your friends you don’t want to see. That should be the tag line.”

So true. Have you seen the movie?

Lil Wayne is Hilarious

You can tell he does not want to be there! hahahaha Love his responses! Working for attorneys I totally appreciate his responses.

La La Land

My friend Laura decided to start a blog!

You may remember her from here..

Or not, because I never posted that pic. She’s funny, loves wine, she’s sarcastic, and is obsessed with MAC makeup. She’s cool in my book! SO, go read her blog here.

Fall Activities

I forgot to mention this in my last Fall post, but there are a ton of activities that I am really looking forward to doing this year with my friends! Somehow I’ve always managed to date losers and they never wanted to do fun stuff with me.. so I’m taking it upon myself to do them! You can only make yourself happy, am I right?

SO! I have a fall bucket list of things I want to do.

  1. go apple picking
  2. drink apple cider {how delicious does cherry apple cider sound!?}
  3. go to a corn maze
  4. pick a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch
  5. carve pumpkins with friends
  6. toast pumpkin seeds
  7. make my annual trip to Netherworld Haunted House
  8. go on a haunted tour of the Oakland Cemetery
  9. participate in the chomp n stomp

I’m sure there are many more but thats what I can think of! SO! EXCITED!

Attention Whore

I love my little baby. I think he is the cutest thing ever. Love how he slowly gets closer and closer.. haha I was eating Chinese the other night and he kept inching his way closer after I was done.

STACKED Wines

Happy Friday!!! If this doesn’t get you pumped for the weekend, I don’t know what will. This is so cool. My bloggy friend Urs tweeted about this and I had to check it out.

Per the website, STACKED offers quality wine without the hassle of a bottle, corkscrew, or stemware. STACKED is a bottle of wine separated into four stemless wine glasses. Each glass contains 187ml of wine and a 4-pack has the same volume, 750 ml, as a traditional bottle of wine.

STACKED is the perfect wine solution for ….ANYTHING! Right now they carry Chardonnay, Merlot, and my fav, Pinot Grigio. Genius idea!!

Oprah’s Next Chapter: Lady Gaga

While I was home earlier this week puking from a migraine, I was able to catch up on some videos I had been meaning to watch.

I freaking LOVE LG. I was her one year for Halloween I love her so much. I just think that she is very inspirational. Celebs who stand up for good causes like bullying? Awesome. I love that her mom did the interview with Oprah too. You can tell they are really close, which isn’t something you’d expect. Check out her Foundation here.

A friend of mine told me to check her out on Oprah’s Next Chapter. This might just be my new favorite show, you guys! It’s in parts..so here they are.

Beauty Tip: Clean Brushes

Nothing blends better than a dirty brush, I know! Brushes that aren’t washed weekly are full of bacteria and germs and also will fall apart all over your face. ONCE A WEEK you need to use a drop of cloudy shampoo and warm water. Clear shampoo’s are more stripping, while cloudy shampoo’s are more conditioning. Hot water can melt the glue so use warm and let dry laying flat on a towel. Standing up in a cup while drying will warp the wood over time. Also Powder brushes start to shed due to lack of moisture. Use a hair conditioner once a month on your favorite powder, blush, cheek and animal hair eye brushes. Wash your brushes at night before bed. They will be dry and ready to use by morning. via

You can also purchase this Sigma Dry’n Shape for $30! That way the brushes hold their texture while drying.

The Dry’n Shape provides the necessary pressure to bristles to quickly and efficiently remove water from every fibre.  The fabric used to shape the bristles was specially engineered to accelerate water evaporation, resulting in a faster drying time for your brushes.

Check out what The Beauty Department has to say about cleaning your brushes.

My Death

Last week I had a dream I was dying. I was in the hospital and I kept telling people that I didnt want to see my dad bc he would be coming to take me to the other side. I’m not sure what was wrong with me, but I know I had a catheter and tubes down my throat. Crazy, right? Natch, I googled what all of that meant…

To see and talk with your dead parents in your dreams represent your fears of losing them or your way of coping with the loss. You are using your dream as a last opportunity to say your final good-byes to them.

To dream that you die in your dream symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or your life. You are undergoing a transitional phase and are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Although such a dream may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm as it is often considered a positive symbol.  Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.

On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation. You are desperately trying to escape from the demands of your daily life.

To see or dream that you are in a hospital symbolizes your need to heal or improve your physical or mental health. You need to get back to the flow of everyday life. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are giving up control of your own body. Perhaps you are afraid of losing control of your body.

Dead on. Pun intended.

Fall

I’ve always said that the summer is my favorite season. Hello, everyone looks better tan. I think my favorite season might actually be fall! Probably due to the cooler air and all things pumpkin related, not to mention I have a fall birthday.

While browsing for a bridal gift, I stopped in The Limited to look at their fall line. I fell in love with so many things in store that I had to check their stuff out online due to time.maroon skinny jeans

which also comes in these colors

faux leather mini

faceted square cocktail ring

which comes in these lovely colors

While in the store I did manage to try on this combo and loved it!

high heel penny loafers

flower statement necklace

I finally made it over to VS to buy my friend’s bridal gift but this sexy little number caught my eye, so I had to try it on. I need a man. ha

metallic lace teddy

Target also has some really cute items. I snapped a pic of these flannel shirts.

Know what else I love about fall?! Candles! Especially Bath & Body Works’ candles.

Leaves is hands down my favorite fall scent. I have two in my living room and I can’t get enough.

Apple Crumble smells amazing in the kitchen! I bought this last year and I love it.

I’m not sure if Autumn or Farmstand Apple are new scents, but they smell amazing too!!

Of course you can’t mention fall without mentioning Starbucks. I do love a PSL {pumpkin spice latte} but my favorite fall/winter drink they carry is the salted caramel hot chocolate. Holy yum!

Virtue

I’ve talked about this before, but this question that Oprah asked Carrie Underwood has really stuck with me.

O: What word or virtue best describes what matters the most to you?

C: Love. If you love somebody, if you love people, if you love your surroundings, everything else, all that other stuff will happen naturally. If you love somebody you’re going to be honest with them. If you respect and love your surroundings, you’re going to treat them right. It’s all about loving people and just openness and acceptance and love.

SO. TRUE.

Girl Talk

I have more new music! Well, newish I guess. Girl Talk is a musician that specializes in mashups and digital sampling. Basically he put out albums featuring songs by other musicians tied together. AKA, a DJ. I’ve heard of him over the years but I really never paid too much attention until I was at the pool one day and a friend of mine was playing his music. I kept telling one of my friends that it was like we were at a club. Check him out on facebook here or listen to him on YouTube here. I have only listened to his All Day album, but I love it! I have posted two songs below. Enjoy!

It’s A 10

Have you heard of the hair care line It’s a 10? I’ve heard about it from other people and blogs but I never bought any until my hair stylist highly suggested it. I LOVE IT! I use the Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin.

I highly suggest buying some especially if you’re tired of damaged hair! It’s not cheap {or too expensive} given what it does. I recommend getting some at Ulta and if you don’t like it you can always return it. You’re welcome.

September 11

I grew up hearing about where people in my life were during certain life changing events.. when Presidents were elected, when Mtv was launched {Okay, not really but it sounded good}, when certain wars started…

It’s one of those things that you only need to hear the word and immediately you are back in time.. I was in my senior year of high school – my first period Biology class. We heard a little about what was going on but it wasn’t until my second class, school-to-work program, that we learned exactly what was going on. I remember my whole class being glued to the tv and me talking with my friends Jessica and Julie about what was going on. I honestly don’t think that I did any real work in any of my four classes that day.

I remember hearing 911 calls from people in the Twin Towers, seeing the second plane hit, watching as people jumped from the building.. all things you never really want to experience. So tragic.

I haven’t been to Ground Zero, but I absolutely plan on it. I’m sure it’s one of those things that knocks the breath out of you.

God Bless.

All Things Atlanta

Hey guys! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have created two new pages on my blog, Things To Do in Atlanta and Places to Eat. Check them out. Feel free to leave me a comment to add more items to both bucket lists!

xo

Dog Shaming

Here’s something to make you laugh. Dog Shaming. My friend Amber told me about it. You’re welcome!

Cozybear at her finest has been caught eating an entire 6lb raw lamb roast and spoiling Easter dinner! The string was the only hard evidence left!

He is notorious for eating bread and chips off of the counter. We thought a can of soup was safe…

He’s done something bad often enough to need a box of shame.

Every.Single.Time…. without exception. Moose has some serious issues with PDA.

I’m not even mad… that’s amazing.

Jake the Dog: I welcomed the hedgehog to her new home by trying to EAT her. My mom spent an hour plucking quills out of me 🙁
FizzBitch the hedgehog: I chase the dog around the house because he’s scared of me now LoL

Hitting Home

Last night started out as a girls night. It was a nice change to hang out with friends you don’t see a lot. My friend G brought one of her friends I’d never met. We had a good time while we were out.

As the night was winding down we got on the discussion of family. Turns out C’s dad also died of cancer. We sat I. The car for a good 60 minutes talking about those last moments with our fathers and how painful it was to see them each whither away to nothing.

When I got home I didn’t sleep very well. I tossed and turned until 7AM.

As I lay on my couch trying to finish Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives, I came across a chapter about the main character’s dad. She and her dad didn’t have a great relationship because her dad left for another woman. As the main character is at her mom’s for Christmas, her daughter discovers letters that were sent to her from years back.

She finds out that her mom hid the letters from her because, “You would have left me, too. You would have chosen him over me. Him…and her.”

She immediately leaves to see her dad, as he is on his death bed at home, during from cancer. The conversation that they have hit close to home. Too close, as I tearfully finished the chapter.

Life has a funny way of putting things into perspective. The things you once fought tooth and nail for no longer seem to matter. And, the things that mattered, that you didn’t make enough time for, matter even more.

ATL Restaurants: Bucket List

Hey lovers! I created a new page. Check it out here. I love to eat and there are a ton of restaurants in Atlanta. So many that I decided I needed to make a list. I have another list that’s at home so I need to combine the two. If I left any off that you love, let me know! There are a ton of places that I haven’t been to, so if I haven’t been please tell me what your favorite thing to eat is!

Have a great weekend!!

New Music

I found this guy on Megan’s blog. Love his voice. It reminds me of a cross between Jack Johnson and someone else that I can’t put my finger on.

If you know me IRL you know I am a huge KOL fan. Huge. The bassist from KOL, Jared Followill and frontman Nick Brown from Mona, make up Smoke & Jackal. The band’s debut EP, EP1, is out October 16. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. When I listened to it I was half asleep.

Hell In Heels

Before I start off with this post can I just say that I am SO glad it’s football season!??! Ahhhh football season, when you can pick a bf based on his team choice! Greatest time of the year.

This past week has been.. interesting, to say the least…

One of my high school friends came into town so we met up.  He ended up telling me he thought we had something. Uhhhhh…no.

A shit show went down between my sister and myself on Sunday.. and one of my exes text me. Didn’t even have the number in my phone and I had to look at it a few times to figure out who’s number it was because I deleted a lot of people a few weeks ago. BTW, HI!

Oh, one of my more proud moments.. while we were at the bar Saturday night, some guy walks up near me – I think to close his tab? – and I believe I am just gawking staring at him. He smiles and I tell him that he is so hot. He came back with, “It must be the glasses.” I was all over it, “Actually, it IS! and the eyes, and the pretty teeth..” At that point he laughs, puts his hand on the back of my head and tells me I’m cute. Damnit! I start searching for a ring – no joke – and I’m like “You must be married” and when I don’t find one he tells me he is engaged. Of course you are. Story. Of. My. Life.

All the guys I don’t want, want me, and all the guys I do want, don’t want me. Sadz.

It’s been a cray week. I’m actually still at work. Ugh. Something is wrong with me.

Here are some pics from the weekend.

me and HS friend.

OH! We were telling people that it was our 21st birthday. ?!

We found these rando glasses.

La La with her drank.

Cheers to 21!

Hmm

GO DAWGS!

Clearly I am deep in thought.

ITS MAH FAVORITE SONG!

Us. Again.

Mimosas and bloody marys! mmmmm
