So, life happened. A lot. I went to NYC in May for a short trip. I adore friends that want to travel. It’s so nice to have friends that are interested in seeing the world and will follow through! Unfortunately it rained the day I was leaving and I wasn’t able to do too much. Then all flights were delayed. I finally got on a plane to go to Boston around 9PM and stayed overnight. Took another plane from Boston around 5AM to Charlotte, NC then to Atlanta. It was a long day with little sleep. Here are pics from my trip.

The caring, interpersonal type. Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.
The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent “troubleshooters,” they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.
The easy-going, self-effacing type. Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually grounded, supportive, and often creative, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent and emotionally distant, simplifying problems and ignoring anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best: indomitable and all- embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.

27 awkward cake moments
Ever wondered what Pinterest’s offices looked like? Wonder no more.
Ever since NYFW I’ve become obsessed with designer Tom Ford. Not his brand, but him personally. Talk about HOT!
I found an article on him that describes him perfectly…
Women were personally bewitched by him, the straightest gay man alive: In the way that gay men dream of getting hot straight guys to play on the other team, women are enticed by Ford because his heavy-duty flirting encourages the fantasy that he could fall for you. “I feel,” he says breathily, “that I am keyed into the female consciousness.”
Another reason I love him..
At 45, Ford is still the only handsome male fashion designer, with perfect stubble, manicured nails, and not an ounce of fat: “When my clothes are getting tight, that’s not a sign to me that I need to go to another size—it’s a reminder that I have to stop eating, or suffer,” he explains. He has been scrutinized for signs of a toupee, Restylane, and lifted shoes. However, the Tom Ford chest hair remains in fine form, a forest of manliness barely concealed by a polo shirt, usually with merely three or four buttons undone.
Then I read this article on him and his husband. The way he describes his husband’s eyes… I agree, I’m bewitched by him.
That is one smokin’ hot all manly, man.

I can identify with too many of these – Short People Problems
In the past year I’ve noticed the number of people in unhappy marriages increase. This is interesting. As well as this. (Divorce rate for a woman who gets married before the age of 29 is 80%. For men, it’s 72%. The average age for couples going through their very first divorce is 30.)
Has anyone tried this? I’ve heard good things about the Living Proof line, but nothing about this product.
I can’t believe we lost two great comedians recently. Heaven should be a lot funnier with those two.
Women should look good. Work on yourselves. Education? I spit on education. No man is ever going to put his hand up your dress looking for a library card. – Joan Rivers

Check out this post: My boobs don’t need your husband to see them: or, you probably think this pic is about you. The author of the original post is just an idiot. An insecure idiot. And their are other idiot women that agree with her. Wow. No words.
Along those same lines, I found this post, 27 times porn lied to us about sex in the real world, rather funny.
SO glad I found this post, Dear Men: This Is Why Women Have Every Right To Be Disgusted With Us, because yessssss, this is the shit women deal with!!!
I saw this on Lauren’s blog and thought I’d do it as well.

There are so many reasons I want to travel. To see the world, to have new experiences, to feel lost and exhilarated all at the same time, to see beautiful things God created, etc. Lately I have really been dying to travel. I am holding this blog responsible.
She starts out wanting much more out of life (sounds eerily familiar to me..), decides to sell all of her stuff and just GO!
You should visit her blog for the pictures alone if you don’t want to read..
Read this to find out why traveling long term is not a waste of potential.
This post really hit home for me. Why being alone is what you really need.

For me, it’s always the most unexpected friendships that are the best. Actually, all of my closest friends were unexpected friendships. Laura was no exception. Unfortunately she took a job in Columbia, SC and moved on Thursday. I remember the day we took a walk around Chastain Park and she was complaining about how much she hated her job that I told her I’d been praying for her because I knew how much she hated it. About a week or two later she told me about a job offer. Well, that was fast.
I text her today on my way to the doctor to see how her move went since I was MIA on Friday. She told me she was nervous because she knew she was good at her old job, but what if she’s not good at this one? So like any good friend, I gave her a pep talk.
Last Saturday Gretchen, a friend, Laura and myself got together for one last Atlanta night out..

Oh and I got a hair cut and more blonde earlier last Saturday along with my brows done and microderm. Yay! Fun pamper day.

I’ve been sucked in to this season’s The Voice. Why I haven’t been watching this show before, I have no idea. I am watching DVR’d episodes of the live shows and I’m blown away by a few of the performances. The Voice trumps American Idol for sure. Here are two songs that I heard because of The Voice that I think are incredible.

I am always on the search to make my hair better. I have a lot of hair, but it’s thin. I typically keep my hair short for more volume. I’m a big fan of this product for what I call sex hair. I feel like the next morning I need to wash my hair twice to get it all out, and let’s be honest, ain’t no body got time for that.
She has awesome hair, right? I decided to test out the Living Proof Thickening Mousse, Alterna Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Spray and L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium 4 Extreme Hold Finishing Spray.
I have to say, I can tell a major difference in how thick my hair feels now. To the dismay of my stylist, I’ve been wanting to grow my hair out for a while now, and the thickening mousse might be the perfect product to help me get through that awkward growing stage. I really love all 3 of the products. If you’re in the market for volume and thickness, I recommend trying these products. You can buy both of them at Ulta. They also come in travel sizes.

I think it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with Jessie James and her husband, Eric Decker. I’ve been watching their show on E! and I think they are the CUTEST couple ever. He plays for the Broncos and she is a singer. You may remember this song of hers..
I think she’s hilarious and I love how she speaks her mind. Like when she says to her mom, “I think he [Eric] shot a sperm in me last night.” hahaha! Then her mom is only concerned that the wedding dress won’t fit. Love it!
She loves cake as much as I do!
She has a yorkie! And that’s just funny..
A convo Sydney (her younger sister) posted on IG. Dying!!
I love that he was so pumped about being a dad (before they got preg). They showed him washing their labs in the tub and he was picking out “hangers” from their butts. That’s love. I’ve totally had to do that before, and it’s not fun. Part of the job though!
They are a pair after my own heart!
She is currently preg with their first kid. That kid will either be the best looking kid ever. I kind of want to be her, is that weird? I’ll just take her legs though, I wish I had those legs!

My other half as in, the woman that is always there for me, even that one time when we didn’t talk for 2 years. Oopsies.
The woman that knows what I mean when I say “blood is not thicker than water”, because she has also been there, and doesn’t try to change my opinion.
The woman that understands and listens to me when I talk about my childhood relationship with my dad. How he
beat me was never the amazing father, how I always wanted that awesome father/daughter relationship, because her childhood was similar.
The woman that understands what it feels like to walk in on your bf/fiance cheating on you, because it happened to her, a year earlier, in the same house.
The woman that drove an hour to pick me up from said house, kicked her husband out of bed, and talked with me all night long and the next day because I called her in shock immediately after it happened.
The woman that you know any man would be lucky if she picks him because she loves sex, loves football, and is a strong independent woman, just like you.
The woman that you packed an entire house for because you knew she needed to move.
The woman that you thought was intimidating when you first met her.
The woman that you share every tiny detail with.
The woman that is inspiring because she seems like she can do everything.
The woman that is inspiring because she tries to do everything.
The woman that understands precisely what I mean when I say I hate my small town I’m from.
The woman that drives you crazy because she over analyzes things just as much as you do.
The woman that is a replica of you, just 3 years older and brunette.
The woman that has completely opposite taste in men from you.
The woman that tells you “we will make a plan” when you are freaking out because you are questioning so many things in your present life.
The woman that will drive 3 hours to be with you at your dad’s visitation because she knows what it’s like to lose a parent, but can’t actually come because she caught pink eye. ha!
The woman that will spend 9 hours with you, 6 of those in a car, helping you pack up your dad’s house.
The woman that will finish your sentences or say your thoughts out loud.
The woman that you know you can say anything to and vice versa because you both have each others best interests at heart.
The woman that knows what it’s like to have a crush on a co-worker.
The woman that completely understands my relationship with M because she has been there before.
The woman that Bentley feels comfortable around. If you know what a baby my dog is, this is huge.
The woman that currently will get all of my retirement money if anything happens to me before I marry.
The woman that will have a baby for me, if I decide to, because I don’t want to jack up my body and because I’m selfish.
The woman that understands how important it is to maintain yourself because she’s thinks so too.
The woman that supports and encourages you even though she may not agree with you, because that’s just what friends do.
The woman that I am lucky enough to call my best friend, which doesn’t seem to do justice to what she really means to me.

Ladies. I came across this article in Women’s Health and even though I knew I wouldn’t ever tan in a bed again, this article just reconfirmed it. I know its probably boring and you’ll want to just quit reading this altogether – but this information could save you from cancer.
Timeline of a Tan
Within Seconds: Your body is bombarded with hefty doses of ultraviolet A (UVA) light – roughly 12 times the amount you’d get from the sun.
Within a few Minutes: Those long-wave UVA rays begin to penetrate your skin. Over time, they break down the collagen and elastin in the upper layers, causing permanent damage. The potential result? Wrinkles, saggy skin, and sun spots as early as your 20s.
The UVA light can penetrate to the deepest levels of your skin and start damaging the cells that make up your DNA. Within seconds, your immune system senses there has been an attack and sends a signal to a gene called POMC to start pumping melanocytes to your skin’s surface – 1,000 to 2,000 to each square millimeter of skin.
Think of melanocytes as little brown umbrellas that help protect your DNA from any additional damage. Because those melanocytes are brown, your skin starts to tan.
In other words: A tan is a sign that your DNA is damaged. Your tan is like a full-body scab.
At the same time: The POMC gene prompts endorphins to start pumping through your body – so about 5 minutes into your indoor tanning session you start to feel great. Like, runner’s-high great.
Ultraviolet B (UVB) rays have likely fried the upper layers of your skin. This causes redness, burning, and maybe even stinging.
Within hours and the days following: Your cells start turning over and replicating, and the new ones take over for the old damaged cells in your DNA. But when those cells replicate, little mistakes happen.
Those mistakes lead to cell mutations. When mutations happen in the squamous cells, it can lead to squamous cell carcinoma; if they’re in the basal cells, your could be in for a basal cell carcinoma diagnosis. And if the mutations happen in the melanocytes? Melanoma.
Scary shit, right?! Obviously this can happen in the sun as well, the tanning bed just amplifies the time.
With all that said, I’m not perfect and yes I’ve been sunburnt before. I even got burnt this past Saturday – which I am kicking myself for. I’ve already had a mole removed – and that MOFO hurt. I asked my dermatologist if I could see the skin she cut out and to say I was surprised was an understatement. It felt like she cut my skin off with a cookie cutter, even though I was numbed. She went very deep to make sure she got everything, because skin cancer is not just a straight line – when it forms, its in waves.
I’ve also had a sun spot on my face zapped to make it lighten so that eventually it would go away. That felt like electricity on my face. Not only did it scare the hell out of me, I jumped in the chair and yelled, scaring the girl doing it!
With all that said, PLEASE protect your skin. Use sunscreen and reapply. Don’t tan in tanning beds. Spray tan or get tanning lotion. There are a million and five alternatives to using a tanning bed.
I can personally recommend this stuff. It. Is. Awesome. It has NO smell and doesn’t get on your clothing or sheets and dries very quickly. They have a spray, lotion and foam. I’ve seen it at Bed Bath & Beyond, but you can also buy it on Amazon.
I am fair skinned – green eyes and blonde hair. I’ve used the “Dark” (the orange stripe towards the bottom of the bottle) before with a somewhat tan, and it was not orange or too dark.

I came across an ad for sugar gel hair removal in Simply Buckhead magazine while picking up cupcakes for a friend. The sugar gel hair removal part caught my eye.. Check out their website, they even have a cute little Buckhead theme song! “The Beverly Hills of the East”.
Unique Threading & Body Waxing is the only place in Atlanta to offer sugar gel hair removal. It’s a form of hair removal that is similar to waxing, but its much more gentle and less painful (so they say) to endure, and it also requires a higher level of skill to perform. They offer a Brazilian wax at $30 and eyebrow threading at $8.
- Eyebrow threading
- Brazilian body waxing
- Herbal facials
- Henna tattoos
- Sugar gel waxing
Check out their website for more info.

deathly ill sick, I don’t really have any Friday Funnies this week. So, let’s just talk about how amazing Beyonce was at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
First of all, did you watch it?! Bey has some insane dance moves. Girl was werking. it. She worked it so hard, I found an article on Bleacher Report that ranked her #3 in the top 5 for best SBHS.
Here is a list of top 13 best moments from the SBHS that E! made. Did anyone else just die over her outfit? I loved it! I can haz one? People even said that it more than lived up to all the hype. Wow. Of course, there are always the haters. Haters gonna hate..
Here are some pictures if you missed it. via My personal favorites were when she pointed to her ring (pic below), and obviously when DC came out. So excited about that!

Back in October I bought a Living Social deal for laser tattoo removal. It expires in April so I figured I should suck it up and get my first session out of the way. Today was my first appointment. I wasn’t sure what to expect other than pain.
About a month ago, I was getting a facial and I mentioned to my friend that I wanted a small sun spot removed. She told me she could zap it and that it would go away. I thought, okay what the hell.. lets do it! Well, thank God I only had one and it was small. What she called a “zap” felt more like electricity on my face. ON. MY. FACE. I yelled. I jumped and screamed from the shock (literally) of pain. After that, I can say that I absolutely will not be visiting any tanning beds and that I will bathe in sun screen from now on. It’s not like I get dark any way. Dang fair skin.
Once in the back room at the laser center, my tech put a cold pack on my lower back and told me she would be back in a few minutes. I didn’t really feel like the pack was super cold, so I pressed it onto my skin for the time period she was gone. Before she came in the room my skin almost felt like it was burning and it was very red from the cold. I figured that should work because I knew I wanted it to be as painless as possible. I asked her what kind of pain I was going to experience due to my “skin zap” ordeal. I wanted to know how much pain and what it would feel like. She told me that it had been described to her as grease popping on your skin when you are cooking.
Grease. Popping. On. Skin.
In the area where your tattoo is located. For about a full minute or two, depending on how much space your tattoo takes up. Yeah. I would say that grease popping on your skin repeatedly for one – two full minutes is very accurate. Ho. Ly. Mother of baby Jesus. That machine is the real deal. Luckily for me my tattoo is small and since I’ve had it for 10 years, it has faded a lot. The tech told me she thought I would only need 3, maybe 4 more laser sessions. Thank God! Luckily I have another 4-6 weeks to allow my skin to blister/itch/flake before I submit myself to pain again. I’ll post pictures throughout the process if you’re interested.
