Absolutely incredible!

Sugar Gel Hair Removal?

I came across an ad for sugar gel hair removal in Simply Buckhead magazine while picking up cupcakes for a friend. The sugar gel hair removal part caught my eye.. Check out their website, they even have a cute little Buckhead theme song! “The Beverly Hills of the East”.

waxing

Unique Threading & Body Waxing is the only place in Atlanta to offer sugar gel hair removal. It’s a form of hair removal that is similar to waxing, but its much more gentle and less painful (so they say) to endure, and it also requires a higher level of skill to perform. They offer a Brazilian wax at $30 and eyebrow threading at $8.

Specializing In:

  • Eyebrow threading
  • Brazilian body waxing
  • Herbal facials
  • Henna tattoos
  • Sugar gel waxing

Check out their website for more info.

Bey

After being deathly ill sick, I don’t really have any Friday Funnies this week. So, let’s just talk about how amazing Beyonce was at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

First of all, did you watch it?! Bey has some insane dance moves. Girl was werking. it. She worked it so hard, I found an article on Bleacher Report that ranked her #3 in the top 5 for best SBHS.

Here is a list of top 13 best moments from the SBHS that E! made. Did anyone else just die over her outfit? I loved it! I can haz one? People even said that it more than lived up to all the hype. Wow. Of course, there are always the haters. Haters gonna hate..

Here are some pictures if you missed it. via My personal favorites were when she pointed to her ring (pic below), and obviously when DC came out. So excited about that!

Tattoo Removal: Session 1

Back in October I bought a Living Social deal for laser tattoo removal. It expires in April so I figured I should suck it up and get my first session out of the way. Today was my first appointment. I wasn’t sure what to expect other than pain.

About a month ago, I was getting a facial and I mentioned to my friend that I wanted a small sun spot removed. She told me she could zap it and that it would go away. I thought, okay what the hell.. lets do it! Well, thank God I only had one and it was small. What she called a “zap” felt more like electricity on my face. ON. MY. FACE. I yelled. I jumped and screamed from the shock (literally) of pain. After that, I can say that I absolutely will not be visiting any tanning beds and that I will bathe in sun screen from now on. It’s not like I get dark any way. Dang fair skin.

Once in the back room at the laser center, my tech put a cold pack on my lower back and told me she would be back in a few minutes. I didn’t really feel like the pack was super cold, so I pressed it onto my skin for the time period she was gone. Before she came in the room my skin almost felt like it was burning and it was very red from the cold. I figured that should work because I knew I wanted it to be as painless as possible. I asked her what kind of pain I was going to experience due to my “skin zap” ordeal. I wanted to know how much pain and what it would feel like. She told me that it had been described to her as grease popping on your skin when you are cooking.

Grease. Popping. On. Skin.

In the area where your tattoo is located. For about a full minute or two, depending on how much space your tattoo takes up. Yeah. I would say that grease popping on your skin repeatedly for one – two full minutes is very accurate. Ho. Ly. Mother of baby Jesus. That machine is the real deal. Luckily for me my tattoo is small and since I’ve had it for 10 years, it has faded a lot. The tech told me she thought I would only need 3, maybe 4 more laser sessions. Thank God! Luckily I have another 4-6 weeks to allow my skin to blister/itch/flake before I submit myself to pain again. I’ll post pictures throughout the process if you’re interested.

Christmas List – Beauty Edition

New Look

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you will notice a much improved look. It’s so pretty and girly and sweet..totally me. HA! I owe all the thanks to Erin of EEF Designs. SHE. IS. AWESOME. She went above and beyond and then 10 miles more to help me. I cannot say enough about how great she is. Seriously.

Side note: I contacted at least 20 people to help me design a look for my blog. None of them could help me with a self-hosted wordpress design. I hontesly thought about switching back over to Blogger because of it. I mean, having a cute blog is just, well, attractive. Who would have known it was that hard? Erin did a fantastic job and I am more than pleased with her work! She also creates designs for Blogger. Go check her out!!

Sephora Haul

Since it’s my birthday month, I’ve been showered with some free gifts from some of my favorite stores. One of those stores is Sephora. Every year {since signing up for a points card} they send out a card telling you to come in for your free birthday gift. I live pretty close to a mall so I stopped by with a friend of mine when she needed mascara.

My free gift was a little pack of two Fresh sugar lip treatements. I don’t really know many people that use Fresh products, but upon using the products, I fell in love. The lip treatement is so smooth and soft. I actually like it better than my Bert’s Bees!

It has a subtle citrus scent that I love. It blends reparative oils and waxes with real sugar for a super smooth feel. It has replaced my Bert’s in my purse. I do however have three places I keep my chapsticks. My desk at work, makeup desk at home, and my purse. You should check it out in store. The packge also came with a tinted lip moistureizer that I liked.

Not a bad gift considering they are about $22.50 each.

Of course upon checking out they tell you how many points you’ve earned based on how much money you’ve spent, and they show you the free gift based on the points you have. This time it was a little set of two lip glosses and a lip stick. I tried the colors and instantly loved them. The best part was they were free and mini!

Buxom Lip Cream in White Russian

This is a nude pink color that adds a little shine, plump and tingle to your natural lips.

Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Dolly

This is my favorite out of the three. Its a muted plum color that just adds the perfect amount of color to your natural lips while adding a little plump.

Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Brooklyn

Until I looked this up on Sephora’s website, I thought it was actually a lip liner. Oops? Whatever, It’s nice! I would compare it to Clinique’s chubby stick. Per the website, it works three full-time jobs—it defines the shape of lips like a liner, fills them in with creamy velvet color, and then plumps them to their full buxom potential – so I was half right.

Go check some of these out!

Beauty Tip: Brows

Are you neglecting your brows? Think about this. We frame a picture to make it pop… our brows are the frame for our eyes! So don’t miss out on making your eyes pop by shaping and filling in your brow naturally! via

However far apart your brows are, the larger your nose will look. This is very clear in photos and something I remind brides about all the time. Also, the thicker and fuller the brow the younger you’ll look. I’m not talking bushy brows here, but fuller brows are softer on the face. Experiment with bringing your brows closer together if you have been plucking away and they are too far apart.

If you live in the Atlanta area I highly recommend The Perfect Brows.
